Beach Themed Ombre Wedding Cake

Today or tonight I want to talk about Wedding Cakes, Beach Theme Wedding Cakes to be exact! I think I am in a beachy mood because I am home here in Charleston, SC on an island and we will be heading to the beach tomorrow and I am so excited I feel like I have been to this particular beach in a while.  I would love to do a series on beach themed weddings, so look out for that in the future! Well, lets get started.... I have tons of wedding cakes to show you with some fabulous ideas. Keep in mind they are more traditional wedding cakes, but I will have some unique beach themed wedding cakes for you very soon! Hope you enjoy these beach wedding cakes.....makes me so hungry.

 

 LOVE UNDER THE SEA

Nautical Beach Themed Wedding Cake

 This is a cool and simple beach themed wedding cake.  It features white foundant with blue ribbon lining the bottom or each tier.  It gives me a nautical wedding cake feel.  The white orchirds are a beautiful touch and balance the starfish out beautifully.

This small 2 tiered wedding cake features a seashell mosaic treatment that is simple beautiful. Its classic and sweet.

Beach Themed Suitcase Wedding Cake

This is a fabulously whimsical beach themed wedding cake and I am in love with it.  It features 3 cute square shaped suitcases decorated with seashells and different treasures from the sea!

Blue Beach Themed Wedding Cake with Pearls and Seashells

This cool blue beach themed wedding cake is simple and pretty.  It features clusters of sugar made seashells.  Each of the 3 tiers bottoms are lined with pearls, fitting perfectly into the beach theme.

There is nothing I love more than a beach themed wedding being from the coast or "The Edge of America" in Charleston, SC. I actually lived on an island in Charleston, so beach themed weddings come very naturally.  I have a love for the ocean since I have been a little girl or a little fishy as my mother would like to call me.  Today, I was inspired by starfish wedding cake toppers for a beach wedding.  Starfish are my favorite sea creature.  Check out these cake toppers below! Okay I must admit... I am one of those girls... As soon as I hear "I'm engaged" I wanna see the GOODS.. THE RING! I was browsing through some high profile weddings, and I just kept seeing gorgeous ring after gorgeous ring. The bigger the ring does not necessarily mean the CUTER THE RING! Lets get that one thing straight! I have a few examples of BIG RINGS that are truly over the top but in a tasteful way. Kim, Mariah, Beyonce, and Kate... here's lookin at ya... your left hand anyway!

I really thought Kim's ring was pretty.  It is HUGE, but I am a fan of solid pieces of rock, more so than A MILLION chips. Too bad it didn't last... whoops!

BEYONCE'S ENGAGEMENT RING

I am a huge fan of solitary stones, it allows the ring to make a simple yet refined statement.  I do so those chips making up the bad. I'm not the biggest fan of a buncha chips, but this is tastefully done. Love you B! 

MARIAH CAREY'S ENGAGEMENT RING

Did Nick Cannon really buy you that third world country sitting on your finger Mariah, did he really? lol I am a fan of this sparkly number! Seems like a nice marriage too.... :o) 

I fell in love with Kate's ring. Its not a traditional diamond engagement ring as you can tell.  Its a large sapphire surrounded by diamonds.  Sapphires are my absolute favorite stone, as well as being my birthstone.  That blue tone is so rich. Love your ring Duchess!

I was watching Martha Stewart Reruns featuring Sylvia Weinstock and I just had to see more of her beautiful cakes.

When it comes to cakes, Sylvia Weinstock is at the top of her game. AKA ***The Queen of Cakes*** and ***Leonardo da Vinci of Cakes*** She lives up to every bit of her title as you can see in the pictures below.   I am one of her biggest fans, can't you tell! Her cakes are so detailed and gorgeous.  They have a fantasy feel that would take any wedding to the next level.  These cakes cake go for as much as 10,000 and above (I'm thinking 10,000 is on the cheap side). lol I love her signature black frames! Her bakery is located in Manhattan, NY where she works with her husband as her assistant.

This cake is so grand with ivory fondant bursting with various shades of pink roses.  It is surrounded with a round curtain of crystals. Def an elegant design.

This towering wedding cake is all shades of Ivory beauty! It features hand crafted sugar flowers and would be perfect for a winter theme... or any season for that matter it so gorgeous! 

Even though most of the world won't be able to afford a Sylvia Weinstock creation.  There is tons of inspiration to take from such beautiful cakes. I love the naturalness of the sugar flowers and the grand feeling that can be created with many tiers!

PEACOCKS STRUT IT OUT ON THE BIG DAY!

Peacock Cake and Cupcake Hybrid 

This famous bird has become quite famous in the recent years as the star of the Wedding.  It is a beautiful bird with its lustrous and beautiful feathers in shades of turquoise, blue, green, teal and gold. These make for lovely wedding colors. What a bold statement, not only featuring the feathers but the whole bird as well I was first inspired by this hybrid cupcake/wedding cake when I was researching a classy and fabulous way to incorporate cupcakes into wedding receptions. Cupcakes-The-New-Wedding-Cake. There are so many creative ways to play with the design of the feathers and even create a more cost effective wedding cake! Lets take a look as more Peacock inspiration shall we.... 

This beautiful cake truly highlights the details of the feathers and how beautiful they are.  Pulling that blue directly into the color of the cake is gorgeous (this blue is one of my absolute favorite colors).

This cake also highlights the peacock feathers, but nods more towards the the traditional wedding cake with its iridescent light gold fondant and pearl beading.  

Ivory Peacock Cake

This cake is special.  They incorporated the beautiful Peacock bird (flawlessly created by the way) and still kept more the traditional wedding cake colors of Ivory and Pink.  This was done by a very skilled baker. 

Peacock Dream

I have to say this cake is one of my absolute favorites.  It is so whimsical and inspired by the peacock without screaming peacock.  It looks like a water color painting and is almost dream like. The colors are so beautiful and its SPARKLY!!! I'm a girl that loves anything that sparkles, twinkles, or shines.
